This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your personal information when you visit our website or use the ShareCentral application and related services (together, the "Service").
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.
Information we collect

- We only access this information at your direction, and only to the extent needed to build and maintain your portfolio view.

How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, operate and maintain the Service, including building and updating your portfolio.
- Create and administer your account, process payments and manage subscriptions.
- Respond to your enquiries and provide customer support.
- Improve, personalise and develop the Service, including analysing how it is used.

- Detect, investigate and prevent fraud, security incidents and misuse of the Service.
- Comply with our legal, regulatory and record keeping obligations.
Where we send marketing communications, you can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in the message or by contacting us. Opting out of marketing does not stop essential service communications.
Consent and legal basis
We collect personal information by lawful and fair means, and only where it is reasonably necessary for one or more of our functions or activities. Where we collect sensitive information, or where the law otherwise requires it, we do so with your consent. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, although this may limit our ability to provide parts of the Service.
How we disclose your information
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose it to:
- Service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, email delivery, payment processing, analytics and customer support tooling. They may use your information only to perform those functions for us.
- Professional advisers such as lawyers, accountants and auditors, where reasonably required.
- Regulators, law enforcement or other parties where we are required or authorised to do so by law, or where disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of any person.
- A purchaser or successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, subject to the recipient handling your information consistently with this policy.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers, including cloud infrastructure and analytics providers, store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Data security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These include encryption in transit, access controls, and regular review of our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active, and afterwards for as long as reasonably needed to meet our legal, accounting, tax and record keeping obligations, to resolve disputes and to enforce our agreements. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, measure how the Service is used and improve performance. Some cookies are essential to the operation of the Service; others are used for analytics.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Disabling essential cookies may mean parts of the Service do not work correctly.
Your rights
Subject to some exceptions permitted by law, you may:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or misleading.
- Ask us to delete your account and associated personal information.
- Ask us to stop sending you marketing communications.
To make a request, contact us at support@sharecentral.com. We will respond within a reasonable period, and will let you know if we cannot action a request and why.
Complaints
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, contact us at support@sharecentral.com with details of your complaint. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it promptly. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au.
Children
The Service is not intended for anyone under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Third party links
The Service may contain links to third party websites and services that we do not control. This policy does not apply to those sites, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing them with personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
